State Team Time Trial Champions!

California State Championship Team Time Trials

The team was out in force, fielding 4 TT teams at the California State Championship Time Trials.

* Wayne Rosenkrantz, Fritz, Gary and Dave come home with the State Championship Jersey in the 220+. They end up winning by 7 tenths of a second. Nice work guys!

* In the 140+ category Victor, Brandon, Espen, and Ben take 6th with a fantastic time of 49:55.

* The mountain crew pounds the road course with Sten, Mike, Eric and Mark taking 8th place in the 140+, and setting a great time of 53:12.

* The Men's Open group of Darrin, Jorge, Ian, and Ernie set a great time of 52:39, taking 5th.

Everyone did a great job and earned the team big points!

Barry Wolfe Criterium - Another WIN!

The 50+ team was out in force with Dave taking an early solo attack, staying away for several laps. Gary then gets into a two man break and stays away for a couple laps. The group brings that one back and it stays together until the end. Bruce leads out the first straight and Gary takes the next pull, stringing it out into a straight line for half a lap. Kenny then takes Dave into the last corner and Dave launches the sprint for the win! Another great team effort.

Dominguez Hills Criterium

The 50+ team drills it again getting Dave into an early break. It gets caught and another break goes clear, Gary powers ahead forming another three man group. Dave Hoime powers off the front with 5 laps to go, making everyone chase. Gary motors in for 6th from the break. Kenny and Bruce lead out Dave who wins the field sprint, getting 7th overall. The team was really on today.

Old Brea Criterium
50+ - Kenny pushes the pace from the gun, setting up a counter for Dave. The break stays away for several laps and then gets caught. Kenny goes and gets away with a small group and it is brought back. Dave attacks and several riders bridge up, including Bruce. The break works well, with Kenny controllng the field it gets more than a half lap lead. Bruce leads out the sprint, getting Dave the win. Great teamwork!

45+ - Alan goes to the front early to push the pace. Kenny takes the field up to 30+, setting up an attack from Alan. Hes gets away with 7 other riders. Dave and Kenny take turns on the front controlling the counter attacks. Alan pushes the break hard and drops several riders, getting the break down to 4. Alan powers in the break winning the race! Nice win Alan.

Golden State Series
Steve wins the Golden State race series with two days of powerful sprinting. Great job Steve!

More gold for the team!

State Championship TT

The team comes home with 6 State Champion Jerseys and 2 bronze medalists. Alan and Gary set a blistering time on their first race winning the Mens 90+ tandem. Bruce and Sue get the win in the 70+ Mixed tandem and Fritz and Dave take the gold also in the Mens 110+. Dog and Darrin take the bronze setting a very fast time and beating their previous time by over 3 minutes. Jorge gets 11th in the Cat 4's, Victor gets 9th in the Mens 40--45, Ernie gets 5th in the Cat 5, and Ben gets 11th in the 35-39.

Ontario Criterium

Rick Swanson takes 6th place in a very fast 55+ race.

The 50+ race was very fast with Kenny, Bruce and Gary taking the pace up very fast from the gun. Gary amazingly attacks more times than we could count. Going over and over again to make something stick. It comes down to a field sprint with Pinnaclife Racing at the front for the last 3 laps, controlling the pace. Bruce takes the first long pull on the last lap, then Gary sets up the back side straight at 30+ mph. Kenny takes over and gets Dave and Jay into corner three Dave starts the lead out and powers into the final straight. Jay gets caught up in a crash, but Dave gets the win. Great team work! Jay looked OK, but had an injury to his right hand. Please wish Jay your best, he's a true champion.

The 45+ race saw Gary again go for the early break away. Dave gets to counter off his move and stays away for several laps with another rider. Bruce goes to the front to control the chase. It ends up coming back with 7 laps to go. Gary gets away again! This one gets caught with 2 to go. It comes down to a field sprint with Steve getting 2nd against some of the fastest sprinters inn So. Cal, and Dave gets 8th. Great results for a great team.

Bakersfield Criterium

45+ The team goes from the gun, with David breaking clear for several laps. When they bring him back Gary goes and takes another rider with him. They stay away for several laps. Then at the catch, Dave and Steve go with a couple others. That break comes back together. Kenny takes the last lap set up for the sprint driving the pace at 30 MPH. Dave gets the next turn at the front and Steve powers it down the final straight for first place!!! Dave gets 3rd.

50+ Dave takes the same old flier from the gun, and they hunt him down. Gary goes again and solos for several laps. Kenny covers the front, controlling the attacks. Dave goes after Gary comes back and creates a three man break. Gary does a super human bridge making it over to the break. The break laps the field with Kenny controlling the front. The final sprint goes with Gary leading it out and Dave gets a 2nd on the photo finish and Gary charges in for 3rd, Great teamwork!

1/2 Pro - Steve starts a break up the road and shows the youngsters how to sprint taking 2nd. Steve is on fire!

San Luis Rey Road Race

Sten Kramer does a big effort and takes 3rd in the 30+ 4/6. Unfortunately Ian has a mechanical and is stuck in his small ring for the whole last lap.

Alan, Mike and Bruce get into the final group of 20 riders. A two man break gets up the road, and Mike takes matters into his own hands and powers the front for several miles bringing the two back! Alan and Mike get into the final sprint with Alan getting 5th and Mike "the motor" getting 10th. Mike is a monster!

Long Beach Criterium

50+ A small group goes away from the gun. The team stays at the front to cover any attacks or bridges. The group gets caught and Dave attacks bringing a couple of racers with him. Jay motors across to join the break and the race is on. Gary shuts down the chase and the break stays away. Jay pulls the group the final lap, and sprints from the front to take the win! No one could come around him. Dave takes 3rd.

40+ Steve gets into the mix at the end to take 7th in this very fast field sprint.
